Priorities

It is hard to stick with priorities and it's amazing how easy it is to set a goal, remember it, reinforce that goal's priority, but avoid following thru and then get side tracked on accomplishing priorities and goals achievement.

For example, today I had a few priorities: cash a check, delete some files at work, work service desk, send a few emails, go to dentist etc.   A few were accomplished today (dentist visit, cleaning out a few files, service desk work, a task at work on defining my job),  but I did not have many concrete goals or a list.  I also ran out of time to complete some.  It was not until tonight that actually wrote down exactly what I wanted to accomplish today and in the next hour.   By keeping your daily priorities list focused, small,  but not so hard it is impossible you'll see results.  When accomplishing those tasks there is a positive sense of relief.

There is great power in simplicity.  In reading lately "Insanely Simple the Obsession that Drive's Apple's Success" by Ken Segall, it is amazing what the power of saying 'no', to sometimes hundreds if not thousands of things, allows ultimately saying 'yes' in producing amazingly good ideas.  There is also a beneficial drive to keep things simple, avoid complexity and as a result higher satisfaction (personally and professionally) is achieved thru hard work.
